## What is in BOSpulse 6.1

The session works through each of these in the software, using a live model rather than slides.

#### Flow-induced pulsation analyses

A new "FIP Source Pressures" report lists the acoustic pressure source terms applied at tee and cross junctions, and a new "Source Pressure" data set shows the oscillating sources that simulate vortex shedding.

#### Structural response from FIP shaking forces

The structural solver interface can apply the shaking forces obtained from flow-induced pulsation analyses, so the structural response runs from within BOSpulse with a compatible ANSYS licence.

#### New data sets

Unfiltered peak-to-peak pulsations in pipe and PSD elements with an optional custom allowable limit, relative pressure drop against maximum absolute stagnation pressure, and restraint forces and moments reacting to the shaking forces.

#### Gas flow through inline restrictions

Density through valves and orifice plates is no longer assumed constant, and both sub-critical and critical flow conditions are accounted for.

#### Junction Activation parameter

A new analysis parameter controls which junctions receive an oscillating pressure source, including the option to let the Energy Institute guidelines decide.

#### New PSD element types

A pulsation suppression device can be composed of PSD Pipe, PSD Reducer and PSD Orifice elements, grouped under the new Dampening section, giving a more detailed PSD model while keeping parameters set for the device as a whole.

#### Non-Newtonian liquids

Slurries and other non-Newtonian liquids using four viscosity models, Newton, Power Law, Bingham Plastic and Herschel-Bulkley, supported in every analysis type, with a curve fit window for measurement data.

#### Batch plot generator

A series of similar plots across selected cases, data sets, harmonics, nodes, elements and groups, saved as individual images or as one HTML or PDF document.

Also in this release: results as textual labels and captions in the model viewer, element and node annotations, element groups shown as colours, plot export to HTML, templates in the components database, the tank element extended with liquid surface pressure and nozzle height, and support for the 2023 edition of ASME B31J.
